Ethical Considerations in Bee Control

Bees play a crucial role in the ecosystem as they help pollinate. If there were no bees, there could be a significant impact on the environment.

However, if they are around your house, they might come out as a nuisance. In Salt Lake City, the infestation of bees is a common problem.

Although they play an essential role in the environment, careful removal of them from the property is necessary.

The person who will remove them needs to make sure they remain safe during the process. Another exciting thing about bees is that they are responsible for the food we eat, at least one of the bites every meal.

Therefore, they need to be treated with respect, and controlled removal is necessary. Saela Pest Control can help remove bees from your property in a safe manner.

What are the different types of bees?

  • Bumblebees

They might be mistaken for honey bees. However, they are not the same; they are much larger and have much more fur than honey bees.

They have a social nature and are usually found with the queen bees. You are likely to see their nests in tiny places, such as compost pits, for instance.

The female ones do not cause harm until or unless they feel there is a threat around them.

  • Solitary bees

They are either found alone or in large numbers. The mining bees are primarily among them. If we talk about their appearance, the rest of the body is black, and the bottom part is usually brown or red.

Furthermore, you will generally see them in small holes in the ground. If there is soft brick mortar around your house, they might be found there.

However, they do not cause any harm and make use of decaying structures. They are seen during spring and summertime.

  • Honey Bees

Their primary location to live is trees with hollow spaces. If there are any spaces around your property, they might try to make a colony there as well.

As compared to wasps, these creatures are just about the same size as them. The appearance is different; honey has more fur, and the color is different as well. They live in huge colonies and are often seen with their entire crowd.

How can you safely remove them from your property?

The first step in removal is to know what type of bees they are. Identifying the species is of much importance. However, if you cannot figure it out on your own, it is somewhat better to ask someone who knows about them.

You can find beekeepers, and they can educate you about their kindness and many other things. Another thing is if there is an entire swarm, you need to get in touch with someone professional.

The beekeepers can help you find cheaper ways to get rid of them while making sure they remain unharmed during the process. A professional can successfully relocate their hive to some other place.

If you find the nest of bumblebees, try to relocate it instead of trying to destroy the hive. In the case of solitary bees, you are not going to find any nests.

Therefore, you cannot really remove it. It is advisable to leave them alone as they are likely to relocate on their own since their activity is limited.

Why is it advisable to get in touch with a professional?

It is highly recommended that you do not try to remove the hive on your own and let the professional do it. If you try to do it on your own and make bees feel threatened, they can end up stinging you.

The sting from bees can be painful and, in some cases, lethal. Professionals know their way around. They can calmly remove them without letting them get harmed in any way.
